The Food Box Prank

Hey Brentwood,

This week I missed my brother's wedding. I'm sad I missed the wedding but
I still looked great! My cardboard cutout looks awesome, and I grew three inches! Haha  I have had a busy week.  I have been reactivating or trying to reactivate
less-actives. 4 less-active families showed up to church yesterday so
I guess it's working. Still trying to find more investigators. The
memorial for the sister in our mission got moved to Friday but it was awesome it gave a lot of missionaries closure and we could feel the spirit so strong. It was
hard because I didn't know her but my companion knew her very well so
I was trying to comfort him. Our heater is still broke. We already had two space heaters and we can't get another because our apartment can't handle that much power. But it's been warming up so I haven't been cold anymore. It's sad when
25 degrees is warm to me now. My mom sent me a box of food and the
missionaries I live with played a prank on me. They cut the bottom of the box and removed all the food and put in a bunch of junk so when I opened it from the top I thought my mom sent me a bunch of weird stuff! Haha! Ever since I have been here I have been a bottomless pit! I can't stop eating and I think I've gained 10 pounds. But it is great everyone is humble here and nice. I
haven't had any rude people yet. There are about 20 different churches in this one town so it makes it even more interesting to find people. Our ward covers lots of different cities around the area so there is like 700 people on our roster but only 100 are active. So less-active work is what we do a lot of. Me and my companion get along way to well, it is scary! The ward is amazing here. They work harder then us! It is crazy! But awesome! There are only 4 walking areas in our mission and my apartment covers two of them. We aren't close to anything so the members give us rides everywhere. We get rides to do our grocery shopping, rides to church, rides to play basketball on P-day. They are dedicated members. Have a great week everyone!

Home of the Little League World Series!

Hey Everyone! I am serving in the Williamsport area it is as Far East as
my mission goes! And it is a small town only known for the Little
league World Series other than that it is not known at all. And the
people are very interesting. A lot of mentally ill, and financially
troubled people. The ward is awesome we are fed pretty well. My
trainers name is Elder Bell he is from Moraga. And it turns out that
he played volleyball for Campolindo! We played against each other my
junior year and his senior year!!!!! How crazy is that! He is a very
good trainer and he works me hard! I thank my Heavenly Father everyday
for the trainer I got. But it's been hard because we opened up a new
area so he knew nothing about this area going into it and there was no
information on anyone. So we had to start from scratch but it has been
getting better. We already have 2 investigators. One was from a member referral and the other one we were teaching a lesson and her friend came in and he was interested in taking the lessons. I gave a Book of Mormon out my
first day through a street contact. And all kinds of great things. Oh
ya and my area is a walking area so ya it's cold and we have to walk
everywhere. Our heater is currently broke so our apartment is 30 degrees. I sleep in lots of layers. There are four elders in our our apartment. They are all great guys. The other elders are from Utah and Arizona. Soooo ya. I have an interesting first area. I am doing fantastic and I love being a missionary! And for the first time in my life I am starving. I can't get enough to eat! On a sad note, The day I arrived in my mission four sister missionaries were involved in a car crash killing one of the sisters. It has been very hard on many of the missionaries who knew her well. We are having a memorial service for her tomorrow. Please pray for the families involved and the missionaries in the Pennsylvania Pittsburgh Mission.
