So this week has been great!
So Elder Cooper is awesome me and him are working hard. We have taken
our huge list of less-active members and have cut it in half because
we have found out do not contacts, or people that have moved and we
have told the ward so now missionaries in the future won't have to
waste time tracking down people that aren't there anymore or people
that will tell at you!
So our investigator Kenzie is still progressing towards baptism! She
hasn't missed a day of church and is just so excited to keep learning!
So I was asked to give a talk in sacrament about how we can best
prepare to partake of the sacrament and how we can always make it a
spiritual and uplifting experience! And so I prepared this talk and me
and one other guy spoke in sacrament so we both had to take up a
decent amount of time. But then that night we had ward council. And
the first councilor in the bishopric asked for ideas about talks for
next Sunday. And some lady got excited to share her idea. So she
started saying how she really would just like someone to give a talk
about how people can make the sacrament a more spiritual experience...
I just sat there a little offended and the rest of the ward council
just started laughing! She looked so confused and finally someone told
her that I just gave a talk on that. Funniest moment ever!!!
So we have 4 investigators that we are hoping to set with a date for
baptism! This area has progressed so much and has been so much fun to
work lately!!

Baptism date and Transfers!
So this is transfer weekend! Sad to say Elder Furniss is leaving and
I'm getting a new companion! His name is Elder Cooper he is from Idaho! I actually served around him in Pittsburgh so I already know him pretty well. So I'm pumped! So this week we met with Kenzie again and when we first walked in to the appointment she ran up to us and said "April 8!" And we looked at her like what?! And she said I prayed about baptism and I want to be baptized on April 8!!! So we now have someone with a baptism date. And teaching her is so awesome she has such a sincere desire to learn. So that was definitely the highlight. For church we had a bunch of less-actives come and it was great this area is truly turning around we had a part member family show up to church that we have been trying to get in contact with! So this is great we now have teaching pool and it is a great feeling! So another highlight was that I got to go on exchanges with Elder Davidson!!! My homie and I were reunited again! We worked hard in his walk area and we had lots of fun! It felt like we had never stopped being companions. So it was a party! |
Coming out of no where!
So this week was a pretty good week for HBG!!
So first highlight is that a member came up to us and started talking
to us about how his niece used to take the missionary discussions but
then moved away and stopped going to church. He then told us that she
moved back in with her sister here in Harrisburg! And she is
interested in taking the missionary discussions again!!! So her name
is Kenzie and she is 14 years old but she is so prepared! We met with
her this week and we just talked to her about what she knows and how
she feels about the church. We asked her if she has read and prayed
about the Book of Mormon and she said yes she has and she knows that
the Book of Mormon is true! She just is t sure about being baptized
yet because she doesn't want to go less-active like her siblings have
done. She is flipping awesome and I'm pumped to continue teaching her!
Next is the APs came to Harrisburg to go on exchanges with us. And I
got to go with the Big bad Elder Halls!! And we were trying people all
day and we went to this one house and this old lady opened the door.
She saw us and got a huge smile on her face and she said that she
hasn't seen the missionaries in like a year and that she missed having
us come by. So we talked to her on her pour her for a little bit and
she wanted us to come back. She is some less-active lady that I guess
the missionaries forgot about or something so I'm pumped to go back
and start teaching her. It was also fun to be with Elder Halls again.
Just like old Williamsport times!
The other highlight was after district meeting this week the district
decided to go out and eat at IHOP because a new one just opened next
to the church. So we went and these 2 hostess at IHOP were telling us
how we looked nice all dressed up and how they want to come to our
church. So we told them where and when not expecting too much but then
Sunday came around and they came!!! They stayed all 3 hours and said
that they never want to leave!! They then stayed for the baptism
afterward that the Hershey Ward had. They are for sure prepared!!
Well as you can tell it was a great week but the only bad side is that
it is getting cold!! Haha glad I have a car now!

2017!
So this week started out amazing!!! And ended not so hot! Hahaha
So p-day last week we went to HersheyPark!! It was a blast!! It was
cold and raining but it was awesome and I want to go back when the
entire park is open but it was a great p-day to get to go on some
rides!! The best district ever went the HBG district!!
Went on exchanges to Camp Hill and this member drove down to take my
companion Elder Argyle to lunch but since I was there we both went and
the weird coincidence is that he is from Williamsport and just got
home from his mission so I heard his name before and know his family
very well!!
So here in Harrisburg we have been struggling with people to teach and
one day me and Elder Furniss started praying hard to know what we need
to do and the next day we got in contact with like 5 less actives and
OYMed this awesome lady in the street and our teaching pool has
tripled in size in one week!!
So all these great things happened and the. Half way through the week
me and Furniss got sick! Furniss got a sore throats and I got a fever
so me and Furniss for the past half week have been powering through
our sickness to still get work done but it has been kicking our butts
so me and Furniss tried to slow down a little bit but we couldn't so
we just drugged up and worked through it!
That was the week here is HBG!! Have a great week love you all so much!
