I'm Leaving Harrisburg

Well transfers have come out and I am leaving tomorrow to go be a
District Leader in a place called Beaver!!! It is right above
Pittsburgh so looks like I'm heading back! My new companions name is
Elder Gatrell he just got done being trained so he is fresh to mission
life and I will be his "Mom" or follow up trainer! So I'm pumped! Sad
to be leaving Harrisburg! It is such a great ward full of great people
and the area has so much potential! But I have been called somewhere
else and I will go and do.

So my last week in Harrisburg we finished strong. We were busy all
week because we had to do 2 exchanges with district leaders and we had
to attend 3 district meetings all in one week. So me and Cooper were
barley together working in Harrisburg. But it was a fun week. I went
on Exchanges in Lebanon with Elder Payne and we taught tons of people
about the new Easter video and then we had a bomb dinner with this
awesome family. And the entire time we were working it was pouring on
us! I got out just to back up the car for 2 seconds and got back in
completely drenched! Hahaha I also got splashed by a big wave by a car
but I just was laughing so hard it didn't even phase me! Haha

I also had an exchange here in Harrisburg with Elder Williamson came
here. It was fun we were able to get in contact with some
investigators which was very good and helped us out a lot. We also had
to take the walk elders to go get their bikes fixed and that took
almost all night I tried working on them but I'm still a beginner so
we took them to the shop we volunteer at and they fixed them up.

Attending 3 district meetings was fun because they were all centered
around General conference. And so we got to hear everyone in our zones
thoughts and feeling and impressions about Conference and it was cool
to see how we all geared the same thing but everyone got something
different out of it. It was a great experience to be able to learn
from everyone in the zone.

So I said by to Sister Campbell she is a less-active that missionaries
were working with for a while and she was reactivated when I got here
so we still continued to work with her. And so since she started
coming back to church she started telling her family about it. She's
older and all her kids have grown up but not all of them are members.
So she started talking to her daughter in North Carolina about how she
started going back to church and after our lessons with her she would
call her daughter and tell her about them. Well long story short a
couple weeks ago she got a call and her daughter told her she was
going to be baptized. She had been taking the missionary lessons and
got interested from the conversations she had with her mom and she is
now baptized and is now making a better life in the church for her and
her family. Sister Campbell absolutely loves sharing the gospel now
after that experience so she invited one of her friends from next door
to sit in on one of our lessons. She is the greatest! And it was so
cool to see how helping a less-active rediscover their testimony can
change lots of others lives. Another cool thing is Sister Campbell
found the missionaries and was baptized in a place called Beaver!
Hahaha she was so excited to hear that that is were I am going.

Well I hope you all had a great week I love and miss you all! Below
are some of the best people from the Harrisburg Ward!

My new address is: 423 Sharon Road Apt. 3 Beaver, PA 15009

General Conference #3

This week was pretty dang good!

So this weekend was probably the highlight of my week. Getting to
watch all the sessions of General Conference was amazing! Hearing the
Prophet and apostles speak every time grows my testimony that I know
they are messengers of God. So I don't really have a favorite talk
because I think there were so many good ones. So I will give you some
short summaries of my favorite parts and what I got out of them.
Elder Nelson- "We can not teach about the Atonement or pretty much
anything else in this church without mentioning Jesus Christ." We
cannot forget about Christ. We try way too much to teach people the
Plan of Salvation or the Atonement and we forget to mention Christ,
that's not the way.
President Monson- "Read the Book of Mormon daily. If you don't have a
testimony of it then get one." I find it so amazing that he had very
little to say but the stuff he said was about the Book of Mormon and
reading it daily.
Elder Holland- "Do not forget your role. Your role is important and
irreplaceable." Some people say that if you don't do your work then
God will find someone else to do it. That's false your work is your
work, he needs you and only you.
Those were at least three that stuck out to me. I put my take out of
it after the quotation marks.

Well this week we were walking around in Steelton at night in the rain
for what we thought was no reason but that stupid Elder Swisher had a
feeling to be there. As we walked around it was almost 9:00 so we had
to head back soon so we were walking back to our car when this lady in
an apartment complex lobby waved to us so we stopped walked in and
started talking to her. Her name is Poochi. She was one of the nicest
people ever! We showed her the new Easter video and she loved it we
then handed her a Book of Mormon and she was so excited to read it. We
will be visiting with Poochi again in Wednesday and I can't wait! The
Lord leads us to places for a reason we just need to find that reason.

We had interviews with President this week! He is such an amazing guy!
We get along great and had an amazing talk. He makes me feel so great
when I leave our interviews. Once he gets past all the Sacramento
Kings jokes. But we talked about family history and the importance of
knowing our ancestors. We also talked about the importance of a temple
recommend and how we should always be worthy of it. Just overall a
great experience.

Also we worked at the bike shop again! This time I have pictures! But
I love working on those bikes so much! I have gotten really good at
fixing bikes! The only thing I don't know how to fix is the derailer.
But I will learn that at some point. So we work here and never really
get to see a result from our efforts but this time when we showed up
to the bike shop. There were 3 little kids that are refugees from
Syria and they wanted bikes so we went in and grabbed 3 bikes that we
had fixed up the day before! It was so cool to see the smile on their
faces when they were trying out their new bikes! It made me so happy
to see their joy.

Well that was about my week. Hope you had a great week I love you all so much!

zone conference

So this week was a crazy week!

So this Monday we had a member ask us to come and help him move his
daughter little did we know that there wasn't much to move. But we had
to clean her house and it was the grossest thing ever! She is a little
mentally challenged but good enough to live by herself but this house
was destroyed so some how we got roped into this cleaning job all 4 of
us. But we got that place spotless and the entire time she was yelling
at us to stop destroying her house so it was definitely an interesting
experience.

So last night we went out home teaching with a member and we visited
this crazy old lady. And she was sitting there getting upset because
of a scripture. But she didn't know where the scripture was all she
knew was that it said something along the lines of women should be
silent. And I remembered all the back to a year ago with Elder Bell
and I walking around Williamsport and I asked him a question and he
responded right away with 1 Corinthians 14:34. And I was so confused
on how he responded so quickly and then I looked up the scripture and
laughed because it had nothing to do with anything I asked but it was
such a funny moment I never forgot that scripture. And so when she was
freaking out I told her "Isn't 1 Corinthians 14:34?" And she said yes
it is! And I just started laughing! And Cooper looked at me like why
do you have that scripture memorized. Well long story short she got
over that scripture but I thought it was funny that that scripture is
one of the ones I have memorized!

So this week we had Zone conference! It was so much fun and giving my
Zone trainings is getting easier and I just love seeing everyone and
hearing from president. It is just such an unbelievable feeling to be
in a room full of amazing missionaries! The spirit is just
unbelievable. And so we had to make a road trip almost to Williamsport
just below it for Zone conference so it was crazy to see Williamsport
signs! Man I love that place!

We also had the Assistants come to our area to work it with us for the
day and it was fun. I was with Elder Parke for the day and it was
great we taught a couple lessons and got so much work done.

So every Saturday morning we get some young men together and play
basketball. It is so much fun one of our young men in our Ward invites
like 5 of his nonmember friends so for the past couple months we have
been getting to know these guys playing basketball! And the other day
2 of them came to church. And one of them him and his mom are
interested in coming to church and investigating! So basketball is a
great form of missionary work! Especially when you get to mess around
and have fun. And I do have to say my handles have gotten better but I
still have a terrible jump shot... but we are seeing improvement!

Well hope all of you are doing great! Have an awesome week!

SNOW!!!

So this week was pretty good. We had a big storm so there is a decent
amount of snow out here!

So this week started with a huge storm so for 2 days we walked around
shoveling. So the first day me and Elder Story walked around shoveling
and we found 2 investigators from it. We were shoveling cars, walk
ways, drive ways, and roads. We shoveled for 5 straight hours before
we took a break and we were sore the next couple days! This was I
think my first time ever shoveling snow! Hahaha I thought it was
pretty fun! Kinda.

So this week I bought a guitar to start teaching myself how to play
Elder Story has been teaching at night so I am learning and it is
pretty fun.

This week me and Cooper were driving to our next appointment and this
man walks out in the middle of the intersection and picks up a quarter
starts freaking out and looking all around the middle of the
intersection for more coins and then after holding up like 10 cars her
runs away clicking his heels holding up the quarter! One of the
funniest things I have seen!

We found out that our Bishop is moving so the bishopric is being
changed up soon so it is crazy here in the ward.

So nothing much is going on too much for investigators we have some
people we are teaching but we are just trying to get in better contact
with them. There is one guy named Bhim who was a media referral and we
went over there and he turns out to be a napolese pastor! And he
requested our visit because he needed help deciding on how to solve
problems in his church and how to run it better! Hahaha so me and
Elder Cooper are his consultants I guess! Hahaha but I thought that
was pretty funny.

Well that was pretty much my week I hope you all are doing great have
a great week!
