So this week has been awesome! Training is one of the greatest things!
My trainees name is Elder Holley! He is from Rexburg, Idaho. And he is
a pretty big guy!! He did ballroom dance for a while and is just a
really cool guy. He has definitely been preparing for a mission! He
has PMG down and quoted Joseph Smiths first vision to me. He is
awesome in lessons he is already a great teacher. He is slowly working
on talking to everyone but that is something we all get used to. He is
the best!
So highlights of this week was:
We met with a less-active named Sister Davis she met with us twice
this past week and she agreed to come to church for the first time in
a very long time. She looked at us and said you guys are the first
missionaries to get me to commit to come to church. She said that she
is a project but she doesn't want us to give up on her. She is this
spunky old lady that is very cool. So we are excited to get to
see her at church next Sunday!
Yesterday was the dedication of the Philadelphia temple and it was
broadcasted to all of the stake centers in PA. So we got to watch the
temple dedication yesterday and it was awesome! President Iyring did
the dedication and it was so spiritual. I have never seen a dedication
before so it was cool.
Last night we were able to meet with our investigator Martez! We have
t seen him in a month so we were pumped to see him again. We taught
him about baptism and without hesitating Elder Holley , like a champ,
committed Martez to be baptized! Martez said yes and he now has a
baptism date for November 5th!!!!
This week is just kept getting better and better! We are on a roll
here in Pittsburgh and there is nothing stopping the dynamic of Holley
and Swisher!! Haha his greenie Fire has got me excited!!!
Well I hope you have a had good weeks thank you for all your love and support!

Training and district leader!
So this week was a good week.
We got back in contact with a less-active named Alisha. She has been
in a bad place but this week we finally were able to sit down with her
and talk to her and she was so grateful for us coming by. She said she
wants to turn her life around she is applying for jobs and is starting
to read her scriptures again and she came back to church this past
Sunday. And you can tell that she knows what path she needs to be on!
Teaching less-actives is the best because they already have a
testimony it is just a matter of rekindling it.
We taught Matthew again this week! He is the absolute best! He read
the introduction to the Book of Mormon and so when we met with him he
had a bunch of questions. He just has such a great desire to read and
learn more about the Book of Mormon. He has some disagreement with the
apostasy but knows that if he reads the Book of Mormon and prays about
it that it will help his understanding. He wants to start coming to
institute and church to be able to learn more. He asked us for
websites he can go on to search more things. He is definitely
prepared!
So this was the last week of the transfer and Presidents calls people
to give them leadership positions the Saturday before transfers. So I
was sitting there Saturday morning scared that the phone would ring
and then as I sat down for personal study and started reading the Book
of Mormon I wasn't thinking about it then.... BAM! The phone started
ringing and it was president. I answered and he proceed to tell me
that this transfer I will be training... I froze for a second. He told
me he knows I'm ready for this I replied back and said "are you sure
about this?!" He laughed and told me yes. So I guess I'm going to be
training! I find out who I'm training tomorrow at the training
meeting! I'm excited and nervous and freaking out but it's ok. I
think.
Well that was basically the highlights of this week. Thank you for
everything! I love and miss you all!

Getting Frisbees out of trees!
So nothing much happened this week. All of our investigator lessons
cancelled on us so we met with a bunch of less-actives this week.
Well there is a less-active that no one has heard from in a while and
out of no where she contacted us asking for help. So we have trying to
get an appointment set up and nothing has worked out. So we had an
appointment with our investigator Matthew but it cancelled last minute
and we had a member with us so we decided to just drop by her house.
Luckily she was there and she was so happy to see us. We talked with
her for a little bit and then we shared a nice message about the
blessings that come from keeping the commandments. She came to a
relief society activity the next day and came to church yesterday. It
was crazy to see how one drop in appointment can do miracles. Matthew
was obviously supposed to cancel on us for a reason although I might
not have seen that blessing right away.
The other big event that happened this week was a funny little service
activity. We were walking down the street and saw a lady pulling weeds
out front of her house. And her kids were running around screaming and
yelling and not helping her. So we stopped and asked if we could help
and she politely declined so we kept walking and then she yells out
"wait can you do something else for me?" We turned around and asked
what she needed done. She said her kids got there frisbee stuck in the
tree and she wanted us to get it down. So after a couple failed
attempts at throwing things up there to knock it down she went and got
a broom and handed it to me. So I got on Elder Butikofers shoulders
and was using the broom but we still couldn't reach it! So now it is
getting dark and we can't see so she gets me a flash light. And then
she got the crazy idea to pull her car into her front yard under the
tree so I can stand on it. So here is Elder Swisher standing on top of
an SUV at like 8:00 at night with a flash light and a broom trying to
javelin this frisbee out of a tree! Hahaha the lady thought it was so
funny she started taking pictures and laughing. Well after a little
bit I finally got the frisbee out of the tree. The kids went wild!!
Haha the lady offered us a fudge pop and we sat there and talked to
her for a little bit. Turns out she lived in Santa Cruz for a period
of time!! Found a new investigator through a crazy service project!
Best part of the week!
Well that was the two big moments of this week nothing else really
happened. One week until transfers and I'm freaking out to see what
happens!
Oh we also found a cool sit up thing that we now have to work out
with! We found it on the side of the road and brought it home!!
Thanks for all your support. I miss all of you. Have a good week.
